Daddy Longlegs
Benny Safdie, Josh Safdie 2009 | Spotlight
I found this film so disturbing that I could barely get myself to sit through it to the end. As a single mother of 3 now-grown children, I understand the problems that single parenting can present but to me Lenny was a completely unsympathetic character whose irresponsible treatment of his children constituted nothing short of child abuse and/or neglect.

Catfish
Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman 2009 | Spotlight, First Feature, World Premiere
One of the most unusual films I have ever seen. Funny, touching, with a hint of the bizarre.
