Buried
Rodrigo Cortés 2010 | Park City at Midnight, World Premiere
Eeh. At first, I didn't buy Ryan Reynolds playing a serious role but he did a good job. Typical Sundance ending.

Contracorriente (Undertow)
Javier Fuentes-León 2009 | World Cinema Dramatic Competition, First Feature
Really good. I'm glad it won an award and I was able to see it on the last Sunday of the festival. The music was beautiful as was the beach setting (the beach is my religion). Also, it doesn't matter if it's between two men, but the love depicted made me yearn for my own soulmate.

Frozen
Adam Green 2009 | Park City at Midnight, World Premiere
Loved it. Made me cringe and cry. I may be the only one, but Frozen was one of my favorites at SFF 2010.

Sympathy for Delicious
Mark Ruffalo 2010 | U.S. Dramatic Competition, First Feature, World Premiere
Good movie, I was really impressed with the main character's acting (sorry I don't know his name) and writing of the script. I'm happy Mark Ruffalo won an award because he enjoys directing, seems like a nice, humble man and has worked hard in the entertainment industry.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
Eli Craig 2009 | Park City at Midnight, First Feature, Comedy, World Premiere
Half horror, half comedy. Cute but on a whole, "Sundance at Midnight, " my favorite category at Sundance, wasn't that great this year (save for HIGH school and Frozen, yes I enjoyed Frozen).

The Romantics
Galt Niederhoffer 2010 | Premieres
Unoriginal but the soundtrack rocked and a girl I went to school with, Rebecca Lawrence, has a very sizeable role. She did a great job and looked beautiful.

All My Friends Are Funeral Singers
Tim Rutili 2009 | New Frontier Films, First Feature, World Premiere
The music is great and I hope to see it performed live (the movie is touring). However, the story was weak. I love Angela Betis, though.

Cane Toads: The Conquest
Mark Lewis 2009 | Premieres, World Premiere
It was okay. I met the director twice and he was a very friendly man. Although, I love dogs I don't know why there were two different dog-cane toad interactions in the movie.

The Red Chapel
Mads Brügger 2009 | World Cinema Documentary Competition, Political
I don't know the specifics of how North Korea treats its own people so why didn't the director spend more time showing the audience the awful attrocities N.K. commits instead of just bashing the aforementioned country. The only thing good about this movie was the self-proclaimed spastic. At the Q & Q, the director stated how walking in the parade made him mad and the spastic said, "North Korea didn't make me mad, you did."

The Violent Kind
The Butcher Brothers 2009 | Park City at Midnight, World Premiere
This is a complete machismo movie with blood, loud (too loud) music, gore and sex. I much preferred the Butcher Brothers' "The Hamiltons" to this story that really didn't have a story at all.
