Quadrangle
Amy Grappell 2009 | Shorts, Political, World Premiere
I liked the film, but she could have done more with her father's photos, which illuminated the couples. It was a telling and fascinating story of relationships, but left me wanting to know more -- about the families, what happens later, and so on. The side-to-side editing was interesting though it became a little boring after a while.

Born Sweet
Cynthia Wade 2010 | Shorts, Political, Environmental, Music, World Premiere
Really made me aware of a problem that I never knew existed. Use of the young man with arsenic poisoning created a sympathic and endearing feeling that left you looking for answers after the film ended. The beauty of the scenery juxtaposed with the horror of the condition was discomforting.
