The Kids Are All Right

denied access due to a slightly late bus. any movie that many people want to see, including me, must be worth 4 stars.

Twelve
Joel Schumacher 2009 | Premieres, World Premiere
the best dramatic movie i saw. at times more focused on being hip and smugly cool, like the book, like the author, but a good story, even if the ending is not so surprising. the ride is worth it, even if you know the train is going over the cliff at the end. the buildup is worth the ticket, and worth a conversation or two afterwards.

The Red Chapel
Mads Brügger 2009 | World Cinema Documentary Competition, Political
entertaining and enlightening and suprisingly touching, in that uncomfortable way that everyone looks for something memorable and funny to say when visiting their crazy aunt in the mental institute. you cant be too funny or irreverent, or they might not let you leave. look to Mads for what to do and say. Jacob and Simon should get a purple heart.
