Countdown to Zero
Lucy Walker 2009 | Spotlight, World Premiere
Very thought provoking and educational. Didn't scare me much, but did make me concerned with the amount nuclear armament still in existence and the accessibility to uranium/plutonium by terrorists. With such a broad subject matter, I would like to see a follow up film to cover some of the subject matter that was cut out due to time restrictions (i.e. Cuban Missile Crisis; treaties and regulations; etc.). I enjoyed this thoroughly and I hope it makes it's way to other film festivals.

Son of Babylon
Mohamed Al-Daradji 2010 | World Cinema Dramatic Competition, Political
During my viewing of Son of Babylon, I really wasn't that enthralled with the film. However, Son of Babylon is a film I appreciate the more I think about it, and sometimes, that is what truly makes a classic. For a film made by first time actors, director, and crew, this was a remarkable story.

Russian Lessons
Andrei Nekrasov, Olga Konskaya 2010 | World Cinema Documentary Competition, Political, World Premiere
Russian Lessons is a very well made documentary about the Russian military/government's persecution of ethnic Georgians during the Russian invasion of 2008. I'm glad RL was made by Russians who looked to find the truth behind their country's cover up of a completely unnecessary act of aggression.
